toni-clarke.pngI am excited to serve as your 43rd President. Thank you for entrusting me with the NAWJ Presidency of this great organization. I intend to work towards fostering an environment of diversity, inclusion and transparency.

NAWJ’s mission is to promote the judicial role of protecting the rights of individuals under the rule of law through strong, committed, diverse judicial leadership; fairness and equality in the courts; and equal access to justice.

We are a national organization representing judges from every state in the nation and U.S. Territories. We must have policies and programs that support and benefit our sister judges in ALL of those states and territories, including administrative, tribal and military judiciary.

As I stated in my speech at the Annual Conference in Detroit, my theme for this year is “Back to the Future - Recognizing Our Legacy and Reimagining Our Future”. NAWJ remains as important, if not more so, than when it was founded. We must work together for the common good of NAWJ as an organization. That is what I will have us focus on moving forward.

I hope you will strengthen your commitment to this wonderful organization. Please help us accomplish our mutual goals and meet the ideals that NAWJ stands for: the importance of judicial diversity, inclusiveness and equal access for all.

Sincerely,
Judge Toni E. Clarke (Ret)
