Racial Disparities in the Courts & Strategies

This course is designed to examine the best practices and strategies in addressing Racial Disparity over the past several years. This course is design to be short course of 1 hour in duration.  This course examines:

  • What is the role of research in determining the degree of racial disparity in the criminal justice system?
  • In which areas is racial disparity more readily apparent?
  • Are there differing rates of disparity at different stages of the criminal justice system?
  • What are the six steps to address racial disparity in the criminal justice system?
  • What is implicit bias and how does it impact racial disparity in the criminal justice system?
  • How can decision points where racial and ethnic disparities occur be identified?
