DISTRICT 1 DIRECTOR REPORT DECEMBER, 2016

Written by MaryLou Muirhead|December 07, 2016|District 1

On November 16, 2016 District 1 of NAWJ presented "Branching Out:  Opportunities to Make a Difference in three Branches of Government."

This is District One's signature program, developed by Justice Nan Duffly (Retired) to encourage young women and minorities to consider careers in government. Throughout the years, the program has expanded to college students, law students and young lawyers, men women and minorities.  We present a speaker form each branch of the government and then have panel discussions where each panelist discussed their journey and the panelists take questions from the attendees.  The program is followed by a networking reception.

As you can see from the photos, it was standing room only.  Pictured in the group photo (left) are  (L-R) Senator Linda Dorcena Forry, Honorable Amy Nechtem, Marylou Sufdders, Secretary of Health and Human Services, Honorable Geraldine Hines, Honorable MaryLou Muirhead, Honorable Nan Duffly (Retired) Honorable Ariane Vuono and Representative Ellen Story.
