Hon. Mariam Bazzi Chosen as Panelist by Muslim Americans in Public Service

headshot_bazzi.jpeg.jpgOn January 13, 2022, the Muslim Americans in Public Service national organization held a panel discussion on the topic of 'Pathways to the Judiciary'. Judge Mariam Bazzi, of the Wayne County, Michigan 3rd Circuit, was part of the three person panel. Judge Bazzi shared her story about her dream and goal of becoming a judge. She discussed how she became a judge, and offered guidance to audience members on what they should do if they had the same goal.

Judge Bazzi has been on the Wayne Circuit Court bench since her appointment in 2017. Judge Bazzi presides over criminal matters, and a mental health court. Judge Bazzi is the Chair of the 3rd Circuit's Diversity and Inclusion Committee. In her spare time, she mentors and she is a weight-lifter.
