HON. DEBRA SQUIRES-LEE was appointed to the Superior Court of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in 2018.  Prior to her appointment to the bench, Judge Squires-Lee worked as a business and commercial litigator at the Boston law firms of Hill & Barlow, WilmerHale, and Sherin and Lodgen, where she specialized in business litigation and legal malpractice defense.  Judge Squires-Lee served as a member of the Board of Bar Examiners for the Commonwealth, as co-chair of the Boston Bar Association’s Business and Commercial Litigation Section, and as a member of the Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly’s Editorial Advisory Board.  Since her appointment to the bench, Judge Squires-Lee has been a member of and co-Chair of the Board of Editors of the Boston Bar Journal and is a member of the National Association of Women Judges.

Judge Squires-Lee graduated magna cum laude from Cornell University with a degree in Government, and summa cum laude from New York University School of Law.  After law school, she clerked for the Honorable Michael B. Mukasey, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.  In her free time, Judge Squires-Lee enjoys training, hiking, and chilling with her three rescue dogs: Starbuck, Paxton, and Pele, and cheering for her beloved New England Patriots.
