Hon. Renee N.G. Stackhouse is a Judge in the San Diego Superior Court. She was appointed by Gov. Newsom in 2023 and serves as a Family Law IC Judge at the North County Division. As a Judge, she has served NAWJ as the Chair of the San Diego Success Inside & Out Program and a Co-Chair of the 2024 Annual Conference Education Committee. She participates annually in the Color of Justice and Mentor Jet programs, as well as the “Freedom through Words” Book Club at Las Colinas Detention and Reentry Facility. She also currently serves on the Board of Trustees for Thomas Jefferson School of Law.
Prior to becoming a Judge, Judge Stackhouse practiced plaintiff-side civil litigation and military defense. She was board certified in Civil Trial Advocacy by the National Board of Trial Advocacy and is now a Judicial Fellow. Active in the community, she served as the Chair of the NAWJ Mothers in Court Committee and the NAWJ Fairness and Access Committee, and Co-Chair of the Friends Committee for the San Diego Success Inside & Out Program. She was the first Latina President of California Women Lawyers, the President of the San Diego County Bar Association, the President of San Diego La Raza Lawyers Association, the President of the Thomas Jefferson School of Law Alumni Association, and a Vice President for Lawyers Club of San Diego.
Judge Stackhouse graduated magna cum laude from Thomas Jefferson School of Law.
