EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Marie Komisar comes to the National Association of Women Judges with over 25 years of experience working with not for profit organizations including the executive directorships of the Fairfax County Bar Association (VA), the Dutchess County Bar Association (NY) and the National Organization of Young Audiences, Inc. (NY) Marie has a B.A. in Communications, a Paralegal from Marist College and a Masters in Finance and Management from the Wagner School at New York University.

Marie is eager to tackle the responsibilities for NAWJ. She has cited as goals for NAWJ, the continued growth and expansion of services to both the membership and the general community and to raise the national profile of NAWJ.

Marie and her husband, Jerry, live in Reston, Virginia.

CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER
Jeffrey W. Groton joined NAWJ in December 2002, bringing to the organization 20 years of business operations and financial management experience. Born in Salisbury, Maryland, Jeff served one tour of duty in the U.S. Air Force then attended Salisbury University where he received his B.S. in Business from the Perdue School of Business. He then relocated to Washington, D.C. where he has held positions such as V.P., Banking Operations, and Managing Director of Human Resources and Administration. Jeff then moved to New York City where he served as Chief Operating Officer of a management consulting firm. In the aftermath of 9/11, Jeff returned to Washington, D.C. to join the NAWJ staff. Jeff is responsible for all aspects of business operations, meeting logistics and financial management, and he supports the Executive Director and the Board of Directors in the execution of the mission of NAWJ.
PROGRAM AND PUBLICATION ASSISTANT
Lavinia Cousin joined NAWJ in June 2007, bringing to the organization marketing, development, project management, analysis, and strategic planning skills from her experiences in various non-profit organizations. Lavinia attended Mt. Holyoke College where she received her B.A. in Philosophy.
